Roux / ZZ / Petrus / Mehta — Non-CFOP

Roux (Gilles Roux 2003). 4 steps: left 1x2x3 → right 1x2x3 → CMLL (42) → LSE (M, U for last 6 edges). ~48 STM. Never broke sub-4 single; M-slice sustained TPS < 7. Top Roux: Kian Mansour, Sean Patrick Villanueva, Alexey Tsvetkov (3.95 — only sub-4 Roux ever).

ZZ (2006). Opens with EOLine (12 edges oriented + DF/DB pair in one step); F2L uses only R/U/L. Algs 28-493. Never held WR — EOLine inspection planning is brutally hard.

Petrus (Lars Petrus 1981). 7 steps; ~45 STM. #2 method pre-CFOP era; declined after 2004.

Mehta (Yash Mehta 2020). FB → 3QB → EOLE → 4 finishes. Mehta-TDR's 843 algs is the highest-alg-count speed method proposed. Small community, no top-50 user.
